Case Study
min-chat
Step into the product story behind a messenger MVP shaped in three months: realtime chat, backend-owned behavior, cross-client contracts, deployment boundaries, and the first richer communication surfaces.
Overview
min-chat is a full-stack messenger MVP for private and group chats, realtime messaging, profiles, settings, notifications, attachments, and early call flows.
We reached a working product shape: live web app, backend APIs, realtime chat, shared client contracts, deployment flow, and the first richer communication surfaces. The goal was not just to make a chat screen, but to build a compact foundation that could keep growing without turning into a pile of one-off screens.
Product Foundation
I drove the technical direction of min-chat together with another technical lead. In three months, we turned the idea into a working messenger MVP with frontend, backend, realtime chat, and deployment.
Messenger Behavior
Chat was treated as a real product flow: messages, status updates, edits, deletes, read receipts, typing, presence, and synchronized client state.

Client Consistency
Web and Flutter clients share backend-owned rules for settings, enums, labels, translations, and chat behavior.
Product Systems Highlights
A compact look at the surfaces that matter most: realtime messaging, product foundation, client consistency, and the path toward richer communication.
Login To Chat
Login-to-chat flow and first realtime messages between test users.
Call Surface
Call-room surface showing the project direction toward richer realtime communication.
Groups And Popups
Light theme, groups, popups, and product surfaces sharing the same messenger architecture.
